What is Osteopathic Medicine?
POH Medical Center provides primary and specialty health care services guided by the principles of Osteopathic Medicine, which involve practicing a "whole body" approach to healing.
The Osteopathic approach to healing
Doctors of Osteopathy (D.O.s) have advanced training in the musculoskeletal system that focuses on the interconnected system of nerves, muscles and bones, which make up two-thirds of its body mass. The additional training provides a better understanding of how one injury or illness in one part of your body affects another. Instead of treating specific symptoms or illnesses, they regard your body as an integrated whole.
